For my first drift, I chose my favorite sites in my hometown of Racine. For my second drift, I've chosen one of my favorite cities...Chicago. The atmosphere of Chicago is vibrant, exciting and noisy. The sites I chose were largely on Adams Street and within walking distance of a Metro station. I think Chicago has an energy which isn't evident in Milwaukee. There is much more foot traffic in Chicago and more opportunities to capture man-made sounds.

Chicago
For my first drift, I chose my favorite sites in my hometown of Racine. For my second drift, I've chosen one of my favorite cities...Chicago. The atmosphere of Chicago is vibrant, exciting and noisy. The sites I chose were largely on Adams Street and within walking distance of a Metro station. I think Chicago has an energy which isn't evident in Milwaukee. There is much more foot traffic in Chicago and more opportunities to capture man-made sounds.
Strategy
When my friend and I stepped off the Metro train, we were clobbered by cold, windy weather. To make matters worse, we were pelted with rain on and off throughout our walk.
My strategy was to walk primarily straight. One of the main streets we walked down was Adams Street which is crossed by major streets such as Wabash Avenue, upper and lower Michigan Avenues and Jefferson Avenue. I didn't believe it was necessary to have a walking strategy of left, right, right, left, etc. because there was so much going on in the city that I didn't have to find the sounds; we were surrounded by wonderful sound the whole time we were in Chicago.

Final Video

Finally, you get to see my last video. You have seen short videos of my day in Chicago and now I offer you a 2 minute video filmed on the streets and in the different stores that I visited. This video incorporates most of the sights and sounds I experienced during my day in Chicago. It starts off at the Metro station and ends at Millennium Park. I hope you enjoy this little tour as much as I did filming it.
